Again, the purpose of this blog is to provide information on breastfeeding (and more recently, childbirth) and encouragement to its target audience -- Christian women. However, I'm certain precious women of other faiths, or sans faith, will come across this blog at times.
Obviously, I am a fan of breastfeeding and of helping others to do so. I am also a fan of women being respected enough to be given complete, factual information so they can make an informed decision. How our babies are fed is a huge health care issue, with lifelong effects. I am also a fan of respecting the mother's informed feeding decision and helping her achieve her goals.
But, while breastfeeding is the best start to life nutritionally, there is more. Even if our health is the best it can be over the entire span of our lifetimes, we are still going to die. Breast milk can't save us.
But, the Creator of breast milk can.
This life is "but a vapor" when compared to eternity. The Bible tells us that God did not make mankind to live a few minutes, years, or decades (even centuries in very distant Biblical times) and then disappear into oblivion. He made us to be eternal creatures.

The "rest of your life" -- the one after you die -- depends on understanding and accepting this Gospel, or "good news". May God grant you understanding of the "good news" and the ability to receive it.

With facts, stories, Scripture, and sometimes humor, a pastor's wife, RN, certified lactation consultant, and childbirth educator presents breastfeeding and birth from a Christian perspective. Occasionally I will drift into another topic which MIGHT be related to birth and breastfeeding. "1 Peter 2:2-3" examines the beautiful picture of why Jesus chose mother's milk to describe the Word of God.
